About Us - Mission Statement

The Herndon Cultural Arts Center will be the centerpiece of community artistic performances, exhibits and educational opportunity wherein people celebrate the uplifting and unifying role the arts play in all our lives. The Arts Center will enhance the sense of community and economic vitality of Herndon as performers, exhibitors and patrons use an array of services provided by the town’s businesses.

The Center’s Arts Programming will…

• Provide year-round performance and visual programming of artistic excellence that explores the cultures, histories, and ways of life of our local communities.
• Encourage development of resident presenting companies.
• Feature mentoring programs, master classes, lectures, demonstrations, exhibits and other participatory events to complement the performance schedule.

The Center Will Stimulate Community Involvement by…

• Showcasing the richness of our citizens’ cultural heritages and help to support and strengthen community arts groups.
• Encouraging the use of a variety of local businesses as resources for events.
• Promoting the unity of the community by developing strong ties with local associations and organizations.
• Developing programs that encourage citizens to participate in creating and supporting art as part of their life experience.
• Utilizing volunteer efforts to foster community ownership and advance the spirit of community services.
